To address the issue of high dropout rates among Chinese students in elite U.S. schools, Gateway Academy integrates individualized learning plans together with the Common Core States Standards (CCSS) to help students reach the American standards. We identified Chinese students’ struggles to be primarily in academic reading and writing, so we heavily emphasize analytical reading, research writing, and thinking abilities, so as to greater increase students’ chances of success. Additionally, Gateway Academy is the first and only institute that makes American K-12 course credits available to Chinese students. We serve families of higher socioeconomic status in China, and give parents and their children, ranging from ages 5 to 18, comprehensive educational preparation with the goal of securing enrollment in top international schools! The mission statement of Gateway Academy is as follows: Gateway supplies the four keys to a limitless tomorrow: ensuring elite admissions; enabling easeful assimilation; enhancing academic achievement; and enriching ultimate accomplishment.
