Dennis Song is GM & Managing Partner of Lenovo Capital and the general manager of Ecosystem & Cloud Services Business Group. He focus on IoT, Edge Computing, Cloud, Big Data, A.I.
Dennis Song heads the investment business of Lefund, while taking charge of the Windows and Android ecosystem, enterprise cloud services, as well as new Internet services exploration for Lenovo. His group has made dozens of successful angel investments under his leadership, bringing Lenovo great long-term strategic value and financial benefits.
Dennis Song is also the Director of Lenovo R&T and Technical Director of R&D, led and participated many Lenovo key milestone products, for consumer, enterprise and cloud computing.
In 1977, Dennis was born in Shenyang, Liaoning province.
Dennis holds a Bachelor’s Degree (1999) and a Master’s Degree (2001) in EE, Control Theory and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.
Since joining Lenovo Group in 2001, Dennis has been taken several important research and management positions. As the director of Trusted Research Department and Virtualized Computing Office, he directly contributed to many important products and technologies for Lenovo’s development.
In 2010, after a long-term endeavor LeFund was established by Dennis’ group. They successfully invested in the most potential startups around China. They have established agencies in Beijing, Silicon Valley and Israel. Up to now, the group has invested in more than 30 competitive startups, including iDreamsky, Face++, ZAKER, Nok Nok Labs, ShopEx and so on, with great returns to Lenovo.
Being in charge of the Windows and Android ecosystem, and enterprise cloud services, Dennis has led the cloud service department to build a strong strategic partnership with Google, Microsoft, Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu. By industrial cooperation, investment and acquisition, Lenovo has established innovation eco-systems not only in China, but also in the US, Israel and Japan. Dennis helped provide a great many business opportunities for Lenovo with VC, NEA, Sequoia and Cannon. The most famous universities like Stanford, Tsinghua University and Peking University have also cooperated closely with Lenovo over the past years.
